Accounting Manager/HR Administrator

About the Company and Position:

Nett Technologies Inc., is a global industrial manufacturer seeking an experienced, outgoing, dynamic, hands-on financial leader with a strong accounting background who is entrepreneurially-minded with demonstrated strategic thinking abilities. The Accounting Manager/HR Administrator will be responsible for managing all finance activities and ensuring they are completed accurately and on time.  She/he will be managing a small group of junior accounting clerks and tasked with responsibilities such as enforcing the company policies and procedures, benefits management and the maintenance of finance records.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in development, implementation and achievement of finance goals and objectives and ensure these are aligned with the overall business strategic plan and initiatives
  • Provide effective financial reporting that enhances the culture of financial accountability throughout the organization
  • Design, implement and monitor effective financial systems and processes – purchase to pay, revenue to cash, customer promotions and month-end close – to ensure the accurate, timely and proper recording of financial transactions in accordance with ASPE accounting principles and corporate standards
  • Manage treasury functions including working capital management, cash management, foreign exchange exposure and bank credit facility
  • Manage annual audit processes including preparation of financial statements
  • Support the preparation of financial and operational budgets, forecasts and plans
  • Support the identification, planning and implementation of financial systems and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness of business resources
  • The Accounting Manager/HR Administrator will also be responsible for HR functions of the company, including:
    • Maintaining employee personnel files
    • Group benefits administration
    • Managing employee relations and communications
    • Maintaining the company employee handbook and benefits manual
    • Managing worker’s compensation administration, including accident reporting requirements and claims management

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related finance field
  • 5 or more years hands-on full cycle GAAP experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated competence with accounting software (QuickBooks/Accpac)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong customer-centric approach
  • Ability to extract key information and deliverables through the analysis and review of financial data
  • Display initiative and sound professional judgment and integrity
  • A self-starter and team-player with the ability to handle multiple job responsibilities, set priorities, problem solve and work with all levels of staff while meeting tight and conflicting deadlines

Additional Preferred Competencies:

  • Professional accounting designation (CA/CPA/CGA/CMA) or in the final stages of obtaining a recognized North American professional accounting designation
