Electro-Mechanical R&D Technician

Location : Mississauga, Ontario, Canada - near Toronto Pearson International Airport

About Nett: Nett Technologies Inc., a leading manufacturer of engine emission control systems, has an immediate opening for an Electro-Mechanical R&D Technician within the R&D Department. The company designs and manufactures a full range of exhaust after-treatment emission control products for OE and aftermarket diesel, LPG, gasoline and natural gas engines. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tests utilizing engine dynamometers as per R&D engineering request
  • Provide troubleshooting and problem diagnosis with equipment/tested products
  • Help in the integration of existing products into new applications
  • Assist in building and testing prototypes and final products to engineering specifications
  • Provide technical support for product installations
  • Able to travel to domestic and international destinations

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma, plus some technical education
  • 1-2 years experience in internal combustion engines or relevant mechanical or electro-mechanical knowledge
  • Understanding of IC engine operation principles
  • Understanding of electrical control wiring
  • Strong work ethic and able to thrive in a teamwork oriented environment
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at any given time
  • Good communication abilities with a strong command of the English language
  • Mechanically adept and hands-on, keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in hand tools and hand assembly
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision

 

Additional Preferred Competencies:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Direct work experience with engine control systems, ARB/EPA regulations, guidelines, and emissions standards
  • Exposure to and knowledge of exhaust emission control products
