Sheet Metal Fabrication Machine Operator

Location : Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (Hwy 401/403/410 Area)

About Nett: Nett Technologies Inc., a leading manufacturer of engine emission control systems, has an opening for a Sheet Metal Fabrication Machine Operator. The company designs and manufactures a full range of exhaust emission control and sound attenuation products for OE and aftermarket diesel, LPG, gasoline and natural gas engines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate various sheet metal fabrication machines and become a specialist on one or more including CNC rolling and possibly NC tube bending machines
  • Monitor the accuracy of each job’s initial setup and final outcome
  • Interpret engineering drawings, manuals, specifications and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements to maximize efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Adhere to and comply with the company’s quality assurance program and procedures, policies as well as health, safety and environmental regulations
  • All other duties related to operating various sheet metal fabrication machines as assigned by production supervisors

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of five years proven hands-on experience in a metal fabrication/manufacturing process environment
  • General Machinist, or other related trade experience and/or certification
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
  • Excellent problem solving and mathematical calculation skills
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Proficiency with hand tools
  • Knowledge of the typical metal properties
  • Attention to detail
  • Assertive personality with strong self-discipline and sense of urgency
