What is a generator emission control device?
A generator emission control device is an aftertreatment system installed in the exhaust path of a stationary generator to reduce pollutants including NOₓ, CO, HC and particulate matter. NETT Technologies manufactures these systems specifically for natural gas and diesel stationary power generation applications, custom engineered to your engine type, site requirements, and compliance obligations.
What is the difference between SCR and NSCR for natural gas generators?
SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) is used on lean-burn natural gas engines for targeted NOₓ reduction. NSCR (Non-Selective Catalytic Reduction), also called a 3-way catalyst for natural gas engines) is used on rich-burn engines and simultaneously reduces NOₓ, CO, and hydrocarbons in one compact system. The right generator SCR system or NSCR solution depends entirely on your engine combustion type, it is not a one-size-fits-all product.
What are EPA and CARB requirements for stationary natural gas generators?
Stationary natural gas generators are subject to EPA and CARB emission limits that may vary by engine size, application type, and region. EPA RICE NESHAP rules apply to many stationary engines. CARB imposes the most stringent standards in North America. NETT’s generator emission control systems are independently verified to EPA and CARB Level 3+ standards and ship with compliance documentation you can submit directly to your permitting authority.
Can emission control systems be retrofitted to existing generators?
Yes, NETT Technologies designs and manufactures retrofit emission control devices for existing stationary generator installations. An integrated aftertreatment system combines multiple emission control technologies, SCR, DOC, DPF, and acoustic attenuation, into a single engineered exhaust solution. NETT designs and manufactures these as complete systems covering the full exhaust path, from the engine turbo outlet through the Y-pipe, flex connections, and exhaust stack to the rain cap.
